The Office of Capitol Police Communications Section is a 24/7 operation which is responsible for answering and initiating all calls for police and security services at the Capitol and other facilities within the Capitol Complex.

Dispatchers assigned to the Communications Center monitor numerous surveillance and camera systems, fire and intrusion alarm systems, as well as door access systems for the Capitol building, Sillers building, Gartin building, Woolfolk building and several other buildings throughout the Capital Complex including the Bolton building in Biloxi, MS.

The Communications Center provides continuous communications between the Dispatchers and Law Enforcement Officers while on their patrols, as well as providing access to the FBI National Crimes Information Center for vehicle registration and wanted persons inquiries. The Communications Center Dispatchers receive and handle several hundred calls per day from citizens and state employees requesting information or assistance throughout the Capitol Complex.
